March 18, 2023October 3, 2023 My Favourite Ski Resorts and Why Skiing is one of our favourite holidays to go on as a family so we have explored plenty of resorts. Read on to give you a run down of my favourites and why… Sauze d’Oulz One of my favourite resorts to date! Plenty of slopes for all abilities and some of the most incredible views I’ve ever seen from a mountain. There was also a lovely town with bars and restaurants just a short walk from the bottom of the main gondola. The pistes are noticibly well kept as well as lots of new and upgraded ski lifts. Morzine Morzine is a beautiful (And Popular) resort, but for good reason! It has some incredible slopes, beautiful hotel/chalet options, and a perfect town for a family or friends holiday. With Avoriaz so close it’s a perfect location however as Morzine is a town the slopes aren’t as high up so thick layers of snow nearing the bottom of the slopes aren’t always guaranteed. Avoriaz Avoriaz is a resort close to Morzine but even higher up which makes for not only great views, but usually great snow. The variety of slopes is fantastic for everyone’s abilities. It’s also known as quite an affordable resort so a great option for a budgeted ski holiday. Val d’isere Val d’isere, another stunning location, is known for it’s wide range of slopes for all levels. This resort has a great reputation for the best ski instruction so of course is made for beginners. There is a lovely town close by which is personally a game changer for me, it means for not only great ski days but entertaining evenings too. La Plagne This is the perfect resorts for beginners, I should know… this is where little Ellie learnt to ski. La Plagne a high resort which means great snow is common through the season. It is also linked to les arcs, another great value resort that is perfect for beginners and group ski holidays. Meribel and Courchevel Maribel, along with the neighbour resort Courchevel (two of Les Trois Vallees) are the luxury of skiing. With beautiful slopes at top condition, stunning views, hotels, chalets, next level apres ski and even high end shops like Louis Vuitton, it’s the perfect place to combine luxury and fun. The whole resort is not only family friendly but has lots of opportunities for expert skiers to experience off piste. Andorra This is another great resort for all levels and abilities with plenty of blue, red and black slopes to have a go at. Andorra also offers lots of activities throughout the ski season to give you even more to try, such as tubing and hiking. Due to the popularity of this resort, queues for lifts can be long so getting up and out early is worth it! All Posts Travel Tips
