Making History in Miami!

Yes, you read that right, we made history in Miami!  Myself and some local dancers were given the incredible opportunity to dance alongside THE Miami Dolphin Cheerleaders at the Hard Rock Stadium, before a NFL game.  It was the first ever time a team from the UK (and all over the world!) has performed with the cheerleaders pre game.  The atmosphere was one that I could never explain in words and one that I will probably never experience again, and to top it off the Dolphin cheerleaders are basically celebrities in the US so to be feet away from them as part of their dance was a dream come true.

But to start from the beginning of our trip, we had 16 dancers plus 15 parents to get from Heathrow to Miami as smoothly as possible.  We flew with Virgin which was a 9 hour flight on the way there so had plenty of time to kill for movies and gossips.  We managed to get a shoutout from the pilot as we landed, wishing us luck and then got off to head to the bus.  I must say, Miami airport wasn’t the easiest to navigate so finding our coach was a mammoth task but eventually we found it and made it to our apartments.

Although our apartments were great and the Owner went above and beyond to make our stay even better, giving us pool lilos and target drop off’s, they unfortunately were not in the best location.  We were miles away from the beach and only had one restaurant (Except a McDonald’s) in walking distance from us which for a group of our size was quite important.  We ended up spending our days off by the pool or exploring target which was cool yes, but ideally we would’ve loved to have seen some of the busy Miami city and beaches.

Luckily, we had a rehearsal on Hollywood Beach (Not in Hollywood) so we did have a quick uber ride through Miami Gardens before a pretty tough and hot rehearsal.  We managed to spend the whole day on Hollywood beach and relax before one of the hardest but best days of our lives.  I won’t blab on even more about the big day, instead here’s a small clip of the performance! 

I’ll finish off with saying… If you are ever given the opportunity big or small to do something you love as a job, even just for a day, take it!! Grab it with both hands and enjoy every second, I am so thankful for this opportunity and so so glad that I said yes to doing it, what a dream.
