February 27, 2024February 27, 2024 Luxury Hotels in London London is overflowing with the finest hotels and restaurants, so if you’re looking for a luxury city break, this is the city to choose. However it doesn’t come cheap, the most luxurious hotels are often in the most luxurious locations which means the price is not so luxurious! In this post I’ll take you through my favourite hotels in and around London for your next weekend away. Starting off with one of the most well-known hotels in London, located in Mayfair with it’s own tv special called “The Mayfair Hotel Megabuild” it’s Claridge’s. Since it’s newest extension on top and below the building, Claridge’s is now even more luxurious than ever, with 269 rooms or suites on offer in one of the most high end areas of the city, it’s no wonder that an average weeknight (during high season) costs anywhere from £900. It also has a range of restaurants, café’s and bars that offer fine dining, evening cocktails and afternoon tea. Finally, to top it off, Claridge’s also has it’s own spa perfectly designed for the most relaxing experience, offering a wide selection of hand crafted treatments. Now onto my personal favourite: The Dorchester. A Landmark 5-star hotel also in Mayfair, right opposite Hyde park which offers not only great views but also (if you’re lucky) you can catch some Park Concerts right from your hotel room. Luxury at The Dorchester starts right as you walk in the door with the most grand, beautiful entrance hall overflowing with bouquets. Beyond that there are a range of suites ranging in cost from £641 to £2200 a night! The Dorchester more recently has opened a rooftop bar and restaurant with (in my opinion) the most exceptional steak along with a menu full of delicious options for everyone, on top of that you get to eat with views of the skyline of London. Within the hotel there is also a Michelin star restaurant, afternoon tea, a spa, a gym and Park Lane’s longest swimming pool. The Dorchester truly is the image of hotel luxury. Also in Mayfair (getting the theme here for location?) is the Mayfair Townhouse, a small but mighty luxury hotel with 180 rooms and suites ranging from £300-£800 a night. Each suite has it’s only living area, large ensuite and king size bed, as well as exquisite artwork and décor. There is a bar for evening meals and cocktails as well as a more relaxed restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Mayfair Townhouse doesn’t have a spa or pool but has the perfect location for anyone planning to spend a lot of their trip shopping on Bond Street, as it’s right around the corner and only a short walk from one of London’s largest department stores Selfridges. Finally, if you were looking to stay closer to Central London, my top recommendation would be Ruben’s at the Palace. This is located right opposite Buckingham Palace, hence the name, and you can book suites that directly overlook the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace. Each of the 161 rooms are individually designed with luxury décor, the finest beds and lavish living areas. Downstairs there are 3 restaurants and 2 bars which offer a variety of luxury breakfast and dinner menus as well as afternoon tea during the day. Rubens is just a 5 minute walk from Victoria station and is only a short walk from St James’ park. If you’re looking for traditional luxury in a fabulous location… this is the hotel for you!
