January 18, 2023August 25, 2023 Cruising on the Largest ship in the World Now I know cruises aren’t for everyone but I really cannot recommend them enough! The best entertainment, as well as relaxing facilities all in one place whilst stopping off at the best ports around the world. In this post I’m going to talk specifically about Royal Caribbean’s largest ships in the world, so if you want to know what the (well deserved) hype is all about… Read on! As I’m writing this the newest ‘Wonder of the Seas’ has just recently made it’s maiden voyage, officially making it the biggest cruise in the world so I now feel like a fraud. I have not yet been on this cruise specifically however the next largest cruise, by just 5 and a half feet, is one that I am an expert on so do not fret! The next biggest cruises are the Symphony and Harmony of the seas, they are identical in length, width and layout so going on both has made it clear that they really do deserve all the hype they’ve gotten. Let’s start off with my favourite part of a cruise, the Entertainment! Being such an infamous cruise, of course the pressure is on to have the best shows and performances, and I can assure you that they deliver the absolute best standard. They have 3 large evening performance options, an ice show, a water show and of course a full production in their incredible theatre. I had the opportunity to watch two of my favourite musicals on board, ‘Grease’ on the Harmony of the Seas and ‘Hairspray’ on the Symphony of the seas. Both were exceptional and really tops off your evenings at sea. Same goes for the water shows, the talent is unbelievable! Rope balancing, diving, synchronised swimming and more… you won’t find anything like it anywhere else. Finally, their entertainment crew around the ship are fabulous, getting everyone involved around the pool for Belly flopping competitions and keeping spirits up all over the cruise. Moving on to some day time activities, these cruises are full of them and a week will never be enough time to get through it all. There’s a rock climbing wall at the back of the ship with a stunning view, four pools including an adults only pool and an indoor spa pool, an ice rink, bumper cars, a zip line, flow rider, water slides, not to mention a nail and hair salon… the list goes on and on and on. One thing Royal Caribbean can promise is a fun packed holiday, perfect for both kids and adults! It’s also perfect for food lovers, with great food stands, a massive range of delicious restaurants and even their very own Starbucks! My biggest recommendation has to go to the restaurant ‘Wonderland’, not only exceptional food but an evening to remember, with ‘magic’ menus and wonderful staff, it really makes you feel like you’re in Wonderland! Finally, an important part of a holiday is a good night’s sleep so moving on to the rooms…. Anyone who has been on a cruise will know that regular cabins aren’t exactly the most spacious but for the range of prices they’re great. There’s options between a cabin/suite, a balcony with a sea view, an interior view, a window or no window. This gives a complete range of prices allowing cruises to be available for all budgets. On the Harmony/Symphony of the Seas, they also have the most spectacular choices of suites. There are duplex suites, royal suites, Villa Suites, Aqua theatre suites and the ultimate family suite with a slide! All suites have access to various suite lounges and VIP pool areas to make your stay even more luxurious. The Balcony of a Royal Suite Yes, that’s a hot tub on the balcony! A holiday on any of Royal Caribbean’s cruises is really once in a lifetime and I hope that my recommendations will come in handy for anyone considering booking with them!
